The Card Concept #83 {Parisian Postale}

Welcome to The Card Concept!  Every two weeks we post our inspiration photo challenge and hope that you will join us and create a card for our challenge gallery.  

Please feel free to use any of the styles we have defined or create your own with a combination of styles.  We want you to have fun with our inspiration!




Our design team members will also be selecting a style (or combination of styles) and will explain how they were inspired by the challenge.  So come and join us!  We'd love you to try your hand at a brand new style of card making or feel free to work in your comfort zone.  It is totally up to you!

Now for the design team and their inspiration: 



Ruth Andrews 
Ruth's Inspiration: Red, white, blue and kraft 
for those brown paper packages tied up 
with string for a Clean and Layered look.

Becca's Inspiration: I loved the kraft and red together
and was definitely inspired by the postal theme
to create this Clean and Layered Mixed Media
Valentine’s Day Card.


Vicki Finger
Vicki's Inspiration: Seing the photo made me think 
of a stamp I had in my collection that I wanted to 
use with a slightly different spin on the colors 
for my Clean and Layered card.

Julie Gearinger
Julie's Inspiration- I was inspired by the colors, 
twine and French Script for my Clean and Layered 
Mixed Media card.

Kim Heggins
Kim's Inspiration: I was inspired by the colors and the 
Eiffel Towers on the postage for a Clean and Simple look. 

Michele K. Henderson
Michele's Inspiration:I was inspired by postal images 
and colors for my Freestyle Collage Parisian Postale look!

Nancy Penir
Nancy's Inspiration: All the look of a postcard from another era. A bit of mixed media and lots of layers for my 
Mixed Media Shabby Chic card!

Maureen Plut
Maureen's Inspiration: I took the inspiration 
literally to create my Clean and Layered 
birthday card...Viva La France!

Susan Powell
Susan's Inspiration: I was inspired by the colors 
for my Clean and Simple card (I couldn't 
resist a little humor too).

Angel Rivera
Angel's Inspiration: The color combination, twine 
and lettering on the packages inspired my 
Clean and Simple card.


Mackie Robertson
Mackie's Inspiration: I was inspired by the 
red and kraft colors to create my 
Classy & Elegant Style card!

This will be our final challenge for 2017 to allow our Design Team time with their families over the holidays!

Ruth's Inspiration: The pink, the silver, the sparkle all 
inspired me to make this Clean and Layered card.

Vicki's Inspiration: With all of the elements of 
"retro" in the photo, I had a hard time choosing 
one direction to go but I settled on the color 
and style of the ornaments for my 
Elegant and Classy card.

Julie Gearinger
Julie's Inspiration- I was inspired by the gorgeous 
pinks and blues with all of the silver for my 
Mixed Media card! Reminds me of Christmas 
at my Grandparent's house :-)

Kim Heggins
Kim's Inspiration: All the bling and all the wonderful 
ornaments on the wreath- I love that incredible 
look and decided to create a fun 
Clean and Simple card!

Michele K. Henderson
Michele's Inspiration: I love the glossy shine 
of the ornaments, and was inspired to 
create this elegant Clean and Simple card!

Nancy Penir
Nancy's Inspiration: Did someone say retro? Love the 
use of pinks and aquas for that touch of Christmas past. 
Style? Did you know you can combine styles? 
Did just that, with a some layered, a definite flair 
of vintage, and don't forget elegant with bit of bling.

Maureen's Inspiration: My Clean and Simple (or 
Clean and Layered...can't decide! HA!) is inspired 
by this GORGEOUS colour palette...my favourite!

Ruth Andrews 
Ruth's Inspiration: The green and reds and the 
Christmas table gave me a push to create some 
quick Clean and Simple cards perfect for mailing.

Becca's Inspiration: Candles and poinsettias and 
elegance- oh my! Loved this classy image. I really 
wanted to let my candles shine, so I went with a 
Clean and Layered design. 

Vicki Finger
Vicki's Inspiration:I love all the Red and Gold and 
wanted a Classy and Elegant design with 
a lot of white space which happens to be 
red this time around!    

Julie Gearinger
Julie's Inspiration- I was inspired by the elegant 
table setting with all of the beautiful red 
poinsettias to create my Classy and Elegant/
Mixed Media card. 

Kim Heggins
Kim's Inspiration: My inspiration came from the 
gorgeous poinsettia's and the gold lights 
to created a Clean and Simple but elegant card.

Michele's Inspiration: I love the lush poinsettias and 
the bright candles and featured them in my 
Clean and Simple/Classy and Elegant card.

Nancy's Inspiration: The rich red poinsettias inspired 
this Classy and Elegant card.
