Introducing our 2022 Design Team!

Welcome Back to The Card Concept!

Happy New Year!! We hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year Holiday!

We will be resuming our 2022 challenges starting tomorrow Wednesday, January 5th at 8 am EST, but in the meantime, please help us welcome our fabulous returning & new Design Team Members!

Hello, my name is Esther, and I live in the beautiful state of Virginia with my husband, daughter, and two dogs. My mom encouraged me to take up cardmaking (in 2005) after a move across the country left me lonely and struggling. I’ve made some wonderful friends through this hobby, and love that I can use my creations to brighten someone’s day with a bit of handmade kindness in their mailbox!

Hi, I'm Kerry Bunting from the Blue Mountains west of Sydney, Australia. I have two gorgeous adult daughters and began my crafting journey when they were young and I discovered scrapbooking, which then progressed to card making. My style was mostly Clean and Layered but lately I've been experimenting more with mixed media, shabby chic and clean and simple. I've been a teacher most of my adult life, firstly at high school, then in tertiary education and also teaching card classes for more than a decade. I'm thrilled to be a part of the Card Concept design team and look forward to many shared hours of crafting fun.

Hi Everyone!  I’m Julie- I live in Maryland with my wonderful husband of 39+ years and our beautiful "fur-baby", Victoria.  I have been artistic all of my life and love creating cards, sewing, painting and recently, vintage junk journals!  Since I love to experiment, my style tends to be a bit eclectic. Hopefully I will inspire you to create a card and join us!
Hi! My name is Michele. My husband and I, along with our feline fur babies live here in tropical Florida where we love the beautiful beaches and the year-round golf! When I'm not crafting, I am the Education Coordinator for a Children's Museum on the Treasure Coast. I love working with layers of paper and color and am thrilled to be a part of The Card Concept!

                                                           Karen Ksenzakovic
Hello stampers!  My name is Karen Ksenzakovic and I am so excited to be a part of this creative team.  I live in central New Jersey with my husband of 33 years, 2 adult children and my13 year young lab mix.  I have a soccer coach son and a daughter who is in college for Forensic Chemistry.  I've worked in accounting for over 36 years and also work for a Dog Bakery Boutique for the past 4 years.  I love to cook & bake and I've always done some kind of crafting. I've sewed, crocheted, knitted, cross stitched and have been doing paper crafting for about 16yrs when I was introduced to Stampin' Up!  I decided to become a Stampin' Up! demonstrator 3 years ago and love it.  I love designing all styles of cards from clean and simple to collage and I've also done some scrap booking.  I love layering and especially love watercoloring and coloring with alcohol markers.

Hey there, crafty friends!  I'm Karen Letchworth of My Cup Runneth Over.  I've been crafting most of my life...cross stitch, scrapbooking, card-making and now even doing fun arts & crafts projects with my (3) beautiful grandbabies.  I'm a retired, married (37+ yrs), wife and mother (3 grown kids) who spends the vast majority of my free-time either in my craft room or in front of the tv watching my favorite shows.  I'm excited to be part of The Card Concept Design Team, and I hope that some of my cards/designs will inspire you.

Hi! I'm Nancy Penir, and I'm overjoyed to be joining one of my favorite challenges, The Card Concept! Married, mom of 5, and grandmother of 11 darlings; 6 boys, 5 girls. I'd like to say my life's slowed down with an empty nest, but I've filled it with crafting! I love making cards, sewing, keeping up the garden, (we live on 2 1/2 acres), raising chickens, and watching it all grow! I've found the most wonderful community of talent and kindness through all of you. Nurturing our connection is my passion! Style? Making layers and patterns all work on a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" canvas!

LeAnne Pugliese
Hi stampers!  I am excited to be a part of this creative team!  I have always enjoyed crafts of almost any sort, but I truly love stamping cards and mailing them to friends and family!  I discovered Stampin' Up in 1999, joined as a demo in 2002 and have been using ink, paper and stamps ever since!  I live in southeastern PA, have a patient husband, a wonderful daughter and son-in-law and a granddaughter that I am "training" to love crafts as well.  I would say I have an eclectic style, although I do love vintage as well as clean and simple!

Hello! My name is Mackie Robertson! I live in beautiful Charlotte, North Carolina.  My very understanding of my stamping addiction , husband and I have been married over 40 years. We have a grown son and lovely daughter-in-law. I am a retired Dental Hygienist. I went to my first  Stampin' Up party several years ago and I have been inky ever since! I love ALL styles of stamping...from CAS to Mixed Media. If I'm not in my craft room creating something, then I am on Pinterest or Blogland looking at other's creations for inspiration!  I started my blog to share my creations, and  to hopefully inspire others to join this wonderful art form! Happy Stamping!

Hello! My name is Kim Singdahlsen and I live in Colorado with my husband and two cats. We have two college-aged sons - one is nearby, the other far away.  I fill my weekdays as an accountant for my local town government and weekends enjoying our Colorado mountains. Living in a household of men and spending my days with numbers and spreadsheets, is it any wonder that I love the world of cardmaking?! I am most comfortable in the Clean and Layered style - a fresh look but not necessarily simple!

Hello, I am Betty. I am thrilled to design for The Card Concept Challenge. Inspiration Challenges are my favorite.  I live in North Carolina with my husband, Greg, and our two cats. I am a high school English teacher. I have two children. My daughter Erica is a nurse, and my son Dawson is in college. I feel I have always done some sort of crafting since I was a kid. However, I really started paper crafting when I was a stay at home mom. I started scrapbooking our memories which led to cardmaking.

We are looking forward to inspiring you to join us for our
 new 2022 Challenges!

Don't forget to stop back tomorrow to check out our new challenge at 8 am EST !!

The Card Concept HOL21 {Christmas Tree, Holiday Decorations or Fav 2021 Card } Challenge

                      Welcome to The Card Concept!

For those of you who are new to our challenge, every two weeks we normally post an inspiration photo challenge and hope that you will join us by creating a card for our challenge gallery.

We will be giving our Design Team a well deserved break for the holidays, so we have an easy challenge for all of you for the next few weeks!

Before we give you the details for the next challenge, we would like to say farewell to Anita Trippi.

She will be stepping down from the Design Team to due to her work schedule as well as to spend more time with her family.

We will miss Anita greatly, but know that she will continue creating beautiful cards!  We are looking forward to seeing her play along with our challenges in the future!

Best wishes to you and your family, Anita!

Now, on to our HOL21 Challenge!

For this challenge, we would like for you to share your favorite card that you created this year (any card that you designed) or a picture of your Christmas tree and/or holiday decorations.

This challenge will be our last one for 2021 and the gallery link will remain open until Monday, January 3rd!

Now for the Design Team's favorite card from 2021 and/or Christmas tree/holiday decorations:

Esther's Inspiration:  This Mixed Media Blooming Anemone
card is one of several favorites that I created in 2021.

Kerry's Inspiration:   My favourite holiday card from
this year was this Mixed Media creation.

Julie's Inspiration: This is one of my favorite cards from this year-
I love using my older stamps and stash to create
 Mixed Media cards!

Michele's tree is on the way!

Karen's Inspiration: I used my favorite Clean and
Layered holiday card that I made this season.
 I just love these images.

Nancy's Inspiration: I think this is a favorite of all the
cards I made this year. Made with The Greetery's Hour Glass
and Winterberry sets.

LeAnne's Inspiration: I loved making this front
door card; it was fun to color in the flowers and that
little watering can complemented the bricks
in the background!  Fun for spring!

Mackie's Inspiration: I loved this Christmas card because
I love red & black! It makes such a bold statement!

Kim's Inspiration: I picked this "hugs" card as my
favorite of the year because I love the cheerful colors -
and I know everybody needs hugs after the last few years.

Anita's Inspiration: This was one of my favorite cards
this year - I love the colors and overall design!

Betty's Inspiration: This is one of my top favorite cards
of the year. This card has a Vintage/Mixed Media style using
the Winter Warmth inspiration theme.

Since this challenge is just for fun, we will not be choosing a winner at the end of the challenge.  We hope that you will join us as our Design Team members will be taking a break for the holidays.

We will try to visit your blogs and leave comments, but if we are not able to do so, please know that we are thrilled to have you play along with us.

The deadline to participate will be

The Card Concept #165 {Peace on Earth}

Welcome to The Card Concept !

For those of you who are new to our challenge, every two weeks we will post our inspiration photo challenge and hope that you will join us by creating a card for our challenge gallery.

Just a reminder, our inspiration photo is exactly that- a starting point for inspiration. Will it be the colors, the overall theme, the texture, the actual items and/or something else that will inspire your card?

Choose a design style (or combine styles), create a card, and in your blog post, let us know what inspired you from the photo, what style and/or styles you chose and don't forget to display our inspiration photo and link back to our challenge :-)

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: Since we are so close to Christmas, for this challenge we are also allowing tags along with cards to be added to our gallery!

At the end of the challenge, our Design Team will choose one Main Winner and at least three Honorable Mentions.  We will announce the winners here on our challenge blog, as well as our Facebook page and our new Pinterest board.

Again, as we mentioned above, please feel free to use any of the styles we have defined or create your own with a combination of styles.  We want you to have fun with our inspiration!

So come and join us!  We'd love for you to try your hand at a brand new style of card making or feel free to work in your comfort zone.  It is totally up to you!

In case you missed the link above, the styles are explained HERE.

Now for our Design Team's inspiration:

Esther's Inspiration:  My Mixed Media tag was inspired
by the pine branches and bright pops of red.

Kerry's Inspiration:  My ornament-shaped Mixed Media
card was inspired by the candles, tartan ribbon, foliage
and 'Peace' feature.

Julie's Inspiration: I was inspired by the "Peace on Earth"
theme as well as the gold and silver for my
Classy and Elegant style card!

Michele is taking a break and will be back soon!

Karen's Inspiration: I was inspired by the gorgeous
wreath in the photo for my Clean and Simple card.

Nancy's Inspiration: The gorgeous wreath inspired
my Clean and Layered card.

LeAnne's Inspiration: I was inspired by the candles,
the wreath and greenery, and the plaid ribbon
to create my Clean and Layered card.

Mackie's Inspiration:  My Clean & Layered style card
was inspired by the green and red colors
in that beautiful wreath.

Kim's Inspiration:My Clean and Layered card was
inspired by the gorgeous wreath with the big bow
and the simple "peace" below it.

Anita's Inspiration: The wreath, wood wall and
the colors inspired my Clean and Layered card.

Betty's Inspiration: I was inspired by the wreath and plaid
pattern.  I created a Clean and Simple styled card.
