Challenge #94 {Inspiration on Wheels}

Welcome to The Card Concept! Every two weeks we post our inspiration photo challenge and hope that you will join us and create a card for our challenge gallery.

But, before we proceed with our inspiration photo, we are excited to announce that we have two new designers joining our team!!  Please join us in welcoming the talented Kim Lackenbach and Marcie Sharp!!

Kim Lackenbach

Hi, My name is Kim and I'm from Connecticut, USA. I've been married for 36 years, have 2 wonderful daughters and the sweetest grandson in the world. I started playing with paper when my daughter made a scrapbook of her a trip to Europe and I wanted to try it. I quickly switched to card making and love to create cards for family and friends. I enjoy reading all avenues of social media related to crafting. When not in my craft space I like dining out, movies, home decorating and travel.

Marcie Sharp

I'm a fun-loving, dance party enthusiast living in rural Ontario that fills my time with creativity! My two children keep me busy with their interests and my husband and I enjoy geocaching with them. I'm an avid reader and lead the book club at our local library. My cardmaking style adapts to whatever mood I'm in. I range from feeling comfortable creating clean, bold designs with pops of colour and sparkle, to lots of layers and fussier designs. I enjoy creating felt flower creations and spray-painting and adding glitter to anything in our house the family will allow.

Now, on to our inspiration photo for our Inspiration on Wheels challenge!

Please feel free to use any of the styles we have defined or create your own with a combination of styles.  We want you to have fun with our inspiration!

Our design team members will also be selecting a style (or combination of styles) and will explain how they were inspired by the challenge.  So come and join us!  We'd love you to try your hand at a brand new style of card making or feel free to work in your comfort zone.  It is totally up to you!

The Card Concept #93 {Floral Centerpiece}

Welcome to The Card Concept! Every two weeks we post our inspiration photo challenge and hope that you will join us and create a card for our challenge gallery.

Before we proceed with the new inspiration photo, we want to wish Robin Messenheimer a temporary farewell to the Design Team. Robin lives in Leilani Estates in Hawaii and due to the recent volcanic activity, Robin and her husband had to flee their home.

They had to evacuate in a hurry and since there home has not destroyed by lava yet, they have been able to return to retrieve a few things (most of Robin's craft supplies are still at the house).  They are staying safe at a friend's home, but at this time, it appears that they will never be to live in their beautiful Leilani Estates home again.

Robin is hoping to be able to return to our DT in the fall and we wish her and her husband all of the best for the future.  If you have a chance, please stop by Robin's blog and let Robin know that you are thinking of her.

We will miss you Robin- we are praying for you and all of Hawaii!

Now, on to our inspiration photo for our Floral Centerpiece challenge!

The Card Concept #92 {Bold Bloom}

Welcome to The Card Concept! Every two weeks we post our inspiration photo challenge and hope that you will join us and create a card for our challenge gallery.

The styles are explained HERE.

Now for the design team and their inspiration:

Julie Gearinger
Julie's Inspiration: I was inspired by the deep color of the
large bloom as well as the softness of the
draping curtains for my Clean and Simple card.

Michele K. Henderson
Michele's Inspiration: I love the bold contrast between the
red and the  white and flipped them to create
this Clean and Layered card.

Robin Messenheimer
Robin's Inspiration: As much as the single red flower
was a focal point, I let the window blinds guide me
to this Clean and Simple card design.

Nancy Penir
Nancy's Inspiration:  The boldness of that red bloom
inspired my Classy and Elegant card.

Maureen Plut
Maureen's Inspiration: My Clean and Layered card was
inspired by the gorgeous pop of red, the flower
and the neutral background.

Susan Powell
Susan's Inspiration:  I was inspired by the stark contrast
between the redflower and the rest of the photo
to make my Clean and Simple card.

Angel Rivera
Angel's Inspiration: For my Clean and Simple card,
I was inspired by that big coral flower
against the clean white lines.

Mackie Robertson
Mackie's Inspiration:That bold bloom inspired me to
create my Classy & Elegant style card!

Pam Staples
Pam's Inspiration:  I was inspired by the contrast of the bold bloom
that "pops." Instead of a red bloom, I opted for a bold yellow
bloom that "pops" and stands out against
a bold Brusho Crystal Color Background
for my Mixed Media card.

Our Rules:

1.  Use the challenge inspiration to create a card.
2.  Use one of the challenge styles to create a card (or if you prefer, combine a few styles).
